My acer aspire 4920 laptop will not start. I press the on button, the circle blue light goes on for around 5 seconds, then goes off then restarts the same again (blue light, then goes off after 5 seconds) then it stays off. It is a black screen always. It runs with windows vista. Is there any solution for this without sending it to a technician?

Is the batter and adapter all connected fine? Can you get pass the BIOS at all?

If not, then it would be best if you contact ACER about it. Hopefully your warranty is still in effect.

We can try to boot into a bootable CD and see what we can do from there and perhaps backup any of your important files if you have any that needs to be done.

I've tried doing it with the battery and charger plugged in, then without the battery and using the charger and still, nothing. The screen doesn't load up atall, however the fan etc does.

I'm not exactly sure what the main cause of this problem is as there can be possibly many. I would contact Acer unless anyone has some further advice to give.
