I got a PM from njustice asking:

Hi Spy, seen you were online and wanted to ask, why is the site wanting to install activex 'QuickTime' from Apple? Seems odd this would happen on IPB forum software.

Any idea? I think it seems odd as well.

That's interesting - I was never prompted to install QuickTime. Does it happen on firefox aswell, or any other browser?

Does it just happen on the index? This problem rang a bell with me, and I found this:

Somewhat similar, no definite solution though.

Hi Spy,

Just checked it is not happening on Firefox, I don't use any other browser except:

IE7 v: 7.0.5730.11
OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600

This is happening on all pages I visit.....Personal Messenger, index, forums, etc....

Can njustice try to create the problem on similar based forum installations at other sites. Nothing springs to my mind directly involving a standard IP.Board installation that would cause this to occur.

I'll try a few things to see if I can re-create on my test board.

If you missed it below, I had a similar problem in that I have QuickTime installed and every time a new page loaded, one of either OA's program guard, WinPatrol or Win Defender notified of QTTask.exe trying to add itself to start-up.

Sounds like quicktime is still doing the silly qttask.exe that it tries to add to startup everytime quicktime loads. :/ though its noting to do with this site.
