Hello PheelingSublime,

Lets see if you have any errors in the event viewer.
  • Go to Start and open Run.
  • In the Box, type in eventvwr
  • When the window pops up. Go to the system log and application log.
  • Look for red circles with Xs in them around the time of error.
  • Once you've opened the error press the button to the right with the 2 papers on it. (under the 'down' arrow)
  • Please attach the information you just copied onto your next reply.

Regards,
Olrik

Hello RobC,

I split the topic into a seperate topic to avoid confusion.

Do you have any more errors in the event viewer?
Or is this the only error you can find?

Regards,
Olrik

There are numerous errors in the event viewer in both the application(1,748 events) and system(2,364 events) logs. All of them from the last 2 days since I installed IE8.

Looks like a DLL was damaged.
Have you tried removing IE8 then re-installing it?

Also, what Specs does your PC have?

Olrik

Olrick,
I haven't tried to reinstall yet, but I will tonight.
I have a HP Pavilion with a P-4 2.53GHz with 1GB of RAM running XP sp.3

Thanks again.
