I am unable to install the latest version of both ITunes (8.1.10) and also the latest version of Safari. It says there is a problem with the Windows Installer Package. Any thoughts? Thanks, Sneddy

Hello Sneddy,

Please download Dial-A-Fix.
Unzip the folder found in the archive to a place you can remember. For example: C:\DialAFix
Then follow the steps below.
  • Browse to the folder where you saved Dial-A-Fix.
  • Open Dial-a-fix.exe
  • Tick the following boxes:
    Empty temp folders
    Fix Windows Installer
    ActiveX controls/codecs
    Programming cores/runtimes

  • In the bottom left press the GO Button.

Note that ticking a box might tick others too. Leave them ticked!

Regards,
Olrik

Hi there, if the above does not work make sure you check other thing listed below.

1) Download the latest version of windows installer from Here
then try installing the program, it could be a corrupt MSI.

2) Make sure that you are the administrator on the computer, to check this click start then run and type
control userpasswords2
then look at you user name and the group it is associated with.

3) Make sure that an antivirus software or others that have realtime protection are not preveting the installation. You could try disabling them temporarily.

4) This might be wrong but make sure you are downloading the correct version, or downloader an older version.

Also try this http://support.apple...iewlocale=en_US
I have a similar problem before. Hopefully this will fix it.
