Was this ever resolved?

http://www.247fixes..../Odd-t1521.html

I have OA's Program Guard block the irritating QT (if only i-tunes worked without it!) and it blocks QTTask every time I load a new page here?

Edit: I've turned off the "Program blocked" notification and all is well!

Thanks.

As I've said I've configured things so I don't see an alert at all now, but whilst I was playing around with my settings either OA, Defender or Winpatrol all at some point gave a warning about QT putting itself in Start up every time A new page was loaded.

I'll report back here when I have found some more information about this.
I will configure a virtual machine and try to reproduce the error.

What OS are you using?

Olrik

XP home SP3. IE8

It may be that the QTpugin.osx activex has something to do with it, because disabling that has the desired effect.

A quick time plugin?
Where would I be able to get this plugin for IE?
I've never really used IE, lol

It installs as part of QT when you install i-tunes

Yay, an excuse to start playing with my new virtual machine ;)
I'll install i-tunes, IE8 and WinPatrol and I'll see what I can find

Thanks again for bringing this to our attention and your cooperation!

No problems, though scratch what i said before about disabling the activeX (there's more than one), I was too hasty in saying it worked! :smashcomp:

We'll get to the bottom of this
I'm preparing my VirtualBox as we speak and will also see if I can take a look at the source code of the website to ensure that we're not overlooking anything

Hello melboy,

I can't seem to reproduce the error completely. I did get IE8 installed with ITunes, the first time I ran IE8 after I installed ITunes I did get a message from WinPatrol asking me to let the plugin do what it wants to do. I said yes and now I am not getting any messages any more. Could you perhaps export your settings of WinPatrol.

Open WinPatrol and go to the Options tab.
There should be an Export Settings button.
Can you either upload that Registry file to the forum or Personal Message it to me?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I just realised I made a boo boo. I'll re-post something new in a minute.. ^_^

Regards,
Olrik

It would be cool, Just to do one final test.
I think it has to do with QT though, rather then 247fixes.
I can't find anything in place that should trigger such a reaction.

Olrik
