I have AVG free. Many people recommend this but it's not working for me.

It updates fine.

But here's my problem. Last night I did a virus scan and it told me I had 11 trojans in my computer. 11 of them!! I went back and checked my AVG log and it's been scanning 11 of them since early August (it might be longer but that's as far back as the log went). How come it didn't stop them? And how come it didn't alert me that they were there? This is the 3rd time AVG has let viruses into my computer.

I don't want the spyware program to work. I have spyware things.

I need the virus software to alert me that I have viruses and not scan them for months and months and not alert me there is a problem.

I mean I have programs to get rid of spyware. I run adaware about once a month.

I also did a scan on Housecall 2 nights ago and it cleaned my computer of all that stuff as well. (though it didn't help me at all).

I just want my AVG virus to alert me of these viruses and not scan them for months without notifying me.
