Right I've got "Kerio Personal Firewall" but I do not know how to ajust the settings. When I turn the control's on it ill not let me online (I'm using AOL) can anyone tell me how to sort this?

If you set it to ask you when applications try and access the Internet it should ask you if you want to let AOL though or not when it tries.

I never set it to ask, and I don't know how to either.

I'm not so sure about Kerio 4 I use the older version 2.1.5 but you can look at this it might tell you how to do what you want it to do http://download.kerio.com/dwn/kpf4-en.chm
